Wedding Card

I got the card for my son and his soon to be wife done, I think.  I mostly like the front of it, but I need to redo the inside because I really don't like it.  I will have to think on it for a day or two and see if I can come up with something different.  Until then, here is the front.  I think it turned out okay.

I ran some C'oredinations cardstock through the cuttlebug using the heart embossing folder and then sanded it, punched the corners, used a Martha Stewart border punch to punch the bottom (I used this same punch on the invitations), added ribbon, a flower and some brads.

I painted the wedding dress and the tux with metallic paint, it doesn't show up well in the photo. I colored the rest of the image with colored pencils and baby oil.  I used a corner punch to round the corners, added some Stickles for a bit of bling, and there ya have it.

I still haven't taken pictures of the invitations and uploaded them, I need to do that.

I made a couple more flowers from scraps, a flower punch, Glimmer Mist, homemade Glimmer Mist and a couple of brads.  I think they turned out pretty good!  I will probably use these on a project for one of my DD soroity friends.  Seems like I always have something in the works there...lol!  I don't mind though, I am glad my DD found good friends at college that she can rely on, especially with her being so far from home!

Lastly, I got my mom's Mother's Day card done!  She loves Frogs, so I used a Penny Black stamp (minus the words and heart on the stamp) with two frogs on it.  I colored the image with colored pencils and baby oil.  I made some water also.  I sponged in the sky with a dauber and some ink from SU!.  For being my first time doing either of these techniques, I think it turned out pretty good.  The only thing I would change is the color of the lily pad!  I used some Stickles to bling it up a little.

I had a kit from something (can't remember where it came from or what it was suppose to be!...LOL!) laying around so I used some of it on this card.  I used a Sharpie and did some faux stitching, added some ribbon and Prima's with brads and there's the front!  I love stamping and coloring, just need to learn to do it a little better.  My shading is the worst, but oh well, it is homemade so therefore it won't be perfect!  At least that's what I keep telling myself!

For the inside I used more of the aforementioned kit, inked the edges, added some more faux stitching, used a border punch to punch one of the pieces of patterned paper,  stamped Happy Mother's Day and voila!  Card is done!  I added some paper clips that I found at Staples that she will like also!

I have three more cards I need to make this month, another Mother's Day card and two birthday cards.  So far I am ahead so that is good.  Usually I am doing them at the last minute.

Well I guess that is all for tonight!  Have a great night!

Relaxing day

I didn't get much accomplished today.  We had to run some errands today, and afterwards I just felt kind of lazy!  I did manage to pick up some new stamps and some bling...lol, what's a trip to the store without new supplies!

I did get the front of my son's wedding card stamped and colored.  I used some metallic paints and colored pencils to color it and used some stickles to bling it up a little.  Hopefully I will get it finished tomorrow.  I also have two Mother's Day cards to make and a birthday card, all three by May 11 so I better get busy!

Well that's it for today, it's time for bed!

Hope you all had a great day!

A new card

I finished a card today.  I love being able to play again, instead of working on invitations!  Don't get me wrong, I loved being able to create the invitations for my son's wedding, but I am also glad that they are finally done!

I have decided that this is the year to actually learn to use rubber stamps instead of just collecting them!  I still have a lot to learn when it comes to coloring them.  I really need to work on the shading, but I'll get there!  I have always loved to color so I am really enjoying myself!

Here is the card I made.

I used colored pencils and baby oil to color in the image.  The stamp is from Stampavie - Rachelle Anne Millers' Mouse Hug.  Isn't it just too cute!!  Looking at it now, I think I should have used the solid pink behind the image and the patterned paper as the mat.  Oh well, its done now and I think it is cute.

I also made two flowers out of scrap paper.  These are my first trys and I don't think they turned out too bad.

I used the same paper for both flowers.  I used Glimmer Mist, a homemade Glimmer Mist and different inks.  I used beads and embrodery thread on the centers to tie them together.  Not to bad for my first attempt!

Well, I think that is all for tonight!  Have a Great night!

Updated card

I finished the card I posted earlier and I think I am happy with it!  Here it is!

Have a great night!

Ahhhhh!!!

It feels sooooo good to have the invitations done! The day after I got them done I spent the day doing absolutely NOTHING! It was so nice to sit here and with my feet up, a cup of Yum and surf the internet. I did get a card almost completed yesterday. I haven't decided what greeting I am going to use on it yet, but it is colored and mostly assembled. I am thinking of putting "Imagine" on the front because of the colors I used, but haven't decided yet.

I am also going to post two other cards that I have had done for a while. I finally got pictures that aren't blurry, so I will post them today also.

The weather is beautiful here today. I think spring has finally sprung! I just hope we have more spring before summer temps hit and stay!

I think that is all for today. I am thinking of making a card, but not sure yet what I want to do today!

Have a great day! Kelly

Finally FINISHED!

The invitations were finished yesterday!  I stayed up the night before last ALL NIGHT working on the invites and my son and soon to be daughter-in-law came over yesterday and we knocked they out!  I feel like a new woman today!

I have been sitting here trying to decide what I want to do and the only thing I can come up with is NOTHING!...lol!  I can't remember the last time I just sat here and did nothing, it feels so good!  I have a cards that I finished up before the invite marathon that I need to take pictures of so that I can post them.  I used colored pencils and a blending pencil to color them.  I did finally find the blending stumps, so I am anxious to try those!

I have to finish taking pictures of the invitations and will post them maybe tomorrow.

Have a great night!

Squigglefly's blog hop

Squigglefly is having their first blog hop.  It runs until April 5th, so hop on over to Anita's blog where all of the fun begins.  Here is her blog addy:  http://cardsandcoffee.blogspot.com/

Have fun and good luck!

I'm still working on those invites!  I have to cut out the base for the invites, make the RSVP cards, make a LOT more embossed hearts for the invites and address ALL of the envelopes and I'm done!
I'm getting there and I'm liking the way they're turning out.  I think the kids like them also. They were over a couple of days ago to pick the design of the heart for the front of the invite.

Plugging away and hoping to be done SOON so I can play again!  I have some new nesties that are laying here just waiting to be used and some new stamps that I haven't been able to ink up yet!

Have a great day!
