I used a piece of white cord and colored it to match the sentiment...punched three leaves...and inked the edges...attached with pop dots...

I added three strips of paper to the left side...I used some baker's twine and tied a bow around each strip of paper...I also inked the edges with a Copic...The sentiment is from Studio G...

Masculine Birthday Card

I cased this card that Britta Swiderski made...she has a video tutorial with the instructions and supplies...Here is my take on her card:

And a close-up:

I have a really hard time making masculine cards!!...I always want to add ribbon and bling...but then the card looks too girly!!...so when I came across Britta's video...I had to try it!!

This card was a lot of fun to make!!...The card base is 5 x 5 Kraft cardstock...I used the only cupcake stamps I had...from Inque See D's Party Cupcakes...I stamped the smallest cupcake on the card base with Versa Mark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder...I sponged Distress Ink over the top and wallah...background paper!!...I then stamped the next larger cupcake onto Basic Grey's Obscure paper and cut them out....I stamped each one twice and cut the bottom off of half of them...then popped the bottoms up on the cupcakes with pop dots...I have a huge pile of tissue paper...so I thought...hmmmm....paper liners for the cupcakes!!...I sprayed white tissue paper with some glimmer mist...and let it dry...I them folded pleats and cut little rectangles out for the liners....I think they are sooo cute!!...the candles have some Stickles on the flames and glossy accents on the candles!!!

I used some ribbon and nail heads from my stash!!

Thank you so much, Britta, for the wonderful videos that you do!!...I get a lot of inspiration from your blog and videos!!

That's it for now!!...we are going to Cedar Point for the weekend!!...I can't wait...we go every year for the Hallo-weekends....It just sooo much fun!!

Have a Great Day!!

Halloween door-hanger

I found some stamps I forgot I had...and just had to use them!!...they are so cute!!....Here is what I made!!:

And some close-ups of the details:

I had so much fun making this!!...the back is almost exactly the same as the front...I hung it on my front door...so both sides are visible!!

Most of the images are from a Debbie Mumm Holiday set from '09...I think I got them at Joann's in a kit...the tree is from a kit from Paper Wishes...and the bats on the moon are from Studio G...

I used distress inks to make the background...another first for me!!...I had a lot of fun swirling the inks on...I did use a purple ink that wasn't distress ink...not sure what it was...but it worked just fine!!

I used a lot of Stickles on the pumpkins and scarecrow...isn't that scarecrow just too cute for words!!...and that kitty...trying to be scary...haha...I love all of the images from that set...I have another set from Debbie Mumm with a Christmas theme...going to have to check that one out a little closer also!!

Well that's it for me today...I have a mess to clean up in my crap room before I can start on my next project...LOL!!

Thanks for looking!!...and have a great evening!!

The card base is Bazzill cardstock...and the pattern paper is from Basic Grey's June Bug...all edges are inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink...

The Greeting Farm

EDIT:  I originally made this card for the challenge over at Young Crafters Unite...I wasn't going to join in on the fun...{because I'm not young...age-wise}....but the owners have invited EVERYONE to participate....so I decided to submit it anyways!...you should go check the challenge out...and help Britta and crew start their new challenge blog off with a bang!!...Good luck...EVERYONE!!!

I bought my first stamps from the Greeting Farm...and I am so happy with them!!...they stamp beautifully...and are really fun to color!!...I guess I was a little intimidated by them...and any stamp that required coloring skin and hair!!...LOL!!...Mine isn't perfect by any means...but it turned out much better than I anticipated!!...here is the peace stamp...{on clearance, bTW....I got her for two bucks!!}...you should go check them out...and see if there are any left!!...I got four rubber stamps plus a digi for like 20 bucks...and part of the total was for shipping!!...not a bad deal at all!!...any how...here's my card!!...

I actually made four more...just like this one...and am working on a box to put them in!!...I had a lot of fun making this set of cards!!

The card base is from CardMakers kit club...it already had the oval punched out...and it has three panels...so behind the image is covered!!...

I stamped the image with Making Memories black ink...I wasn't sure if I could  use Copics with the MM ink...but it worked!!...no smears!!...colored the image with Copics...added Stickles to the peace sign and gems to the flowers in the hair...then cut her out...I used the black Copic to go around the edges of the image...

The Pattern paper is from DCWV's Spring Glitter Stack...I backed the cut-out oval with a piece of the DCWV PP and then used a scalloped Nestie and an oval Nestie...at the same time...and ran it through my die cutting machine to make the scalloped frame...I used Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks to distress all of the edges...

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder and inked one side up with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink...and then laid the card base on it and used a brayer...The swirl stamp is from Stampin' Up's Priceless set...I think...I stamped it on opposite corners with Scrappy Cat's Vanilla Frosting ink...and embossed with white embossing powder....I used ribbon on the corners....

The sentiment is from Hero Art's Sweet Wonderful You....stamped with MM ink...I used a square punch for the banner look....

Have a great night everyone...and you really should rush over to the Greeting Farm and see if there are any stamps left in the clearance section!!

I had fun coloring this one!!...I love the expression on her face...Kind of makes me think she is trying to get on the teachers good side right away!!....

The card base is Bazzill...the solid purple panel is Bazzill Bling...and the pattern  paper is from a DCWV 12 X 12 paper pad...I used a Martha Stewart punch on the purple panel and used scissors to distress the edges...I used Versa Magic Niagara Mist on the edges of both the purple and pattern papers...

I colored the digi with Copics and cut her out...I used the black Copic to go around the edges...so there wasn't any white showing...Glossy Accents was used on the apple and her shoes...I used two little white pearls in her hair!!

I got the chalkboard at a garage sale last year...I found a lot of crafty goodness that day!!...I colored the edges with a Copic and wrote ABC 123 with chalk...I attached it to the card with score tape...the sentiment at the top of the card is from Basic Grey...the fiber and bling are from my stash!!

Simon Says STAMP-tember Blog Hop

Simon Says Stamp Blog has all of the details about their month long event!!...rush over Here and check it out!!

Here is my card for the ANYTHING challenge:

I love how the background turned out!!...On Splitcoaststampers the challenge for Monday was Embossed Kisses...You were to take a solid rubber stamp and ink it up...then ink the "popped" out side on an embossing folder...and "Kiss" the stamp to the embossing folder...

My DD made a 5" x 7" rubber stamp for me when she was in high  school...I used the back of that rubber stamp and inked it up with Antique Linen Distress Ink...I then Inked the popped out side of the Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder with Always Artichoke Stampin' Up! Ink...and kissed them together!!..I inked the edges with Always Artichoke...and used a Marta Stewart border punch on the bottom of it...I popped the panel up with pop dots....I think it looks like old wallpaper!!...

I used stamps from Gina K Designs' Elegant Flowers and stamped on GKD ivory cardstock...Always Artichoke and Versa Magic Purely Plumeria inks to stamp the flowers...and Spellbinders Label 1 to cut out the panel...I cut the next larger one from Kraft cardstock to layer it on...the edges were first inked with Antique Linen distress Ink and then Always Artichoke...I popped this layer up also!

I stamped the sentiment using Always Artichoke...and used the smallest Scalloped Rectangle Nestie to cut it out...I inked the edges of this also...the peals and ribbon are from my stash!!

I am definitely going to do the "Embossed Kissing" again...there are so many different possibilities..with different colors of ink and embossing folders!!

Have a Great Night!!...and don't forget to check out Simon Says Blog and Store!!

Crafty Steals ~ Sunday School

My cousin had to have a knee replacement today...so this card is for her!!

Here is my cad:

Andreana at Crafty Steals made a card using Gesso and suggested that we try it...I have had a bottle for quite some time and have never really used it...I tried it on a page in the Art Journal I was making but didn't like the results...I really like how this card turn out with the Gesso!!

My card base is Kraft cardstock...I used a Stampin Up! stamp and So Saffron ink to stamp the swirl around the edges of the Kraft and then used clear embossing powder and heat set it... I used a piece of yellow cardstock from Bazzill and painted a thin layer of Gesso on it...I then took a Stamp from the Gina K Designs Bold Flowers set...and stamped in the Gesso while it was still wet...I repeated this,,,cleaning the stamp off each time...until the entire cardstock was covered...then dried it with a heat gun...I was too impatient to wait for it to dry!!...I sprayed some sweet clover Glimmer Mist on it and patted it dry with a paper towel...I used scissors to distress the edges...and pop dots to pop it up...I am so going to do this again!!...I really like the texture of the Gesso!

The sentiment stamps are from CardMakers Kit Club...I used the words "Sending"  "Happy" and "Thoughts"...and stamped them across a piece of Kraft Cardstock in two rows...and used scissors to distress the edges...I stamped the words with Rich Cocoa Momentos ink and used So Saffron to ink the edges...I attached this to the bottom of the card...

I cut a tag shape out of GKD cardstock and used a stamp from Stampin Up! {I'm not sure what the name of the stamp set is} and So Saffron ink and covered the tag...I add a piece of lace with a piece of ribbon over top and used the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher to adhere them to the tag...I used a hole punch to punch a hole in the top of the tag...and used a brad type thing over the hole and ran a piece of ribbon through it...

I stamped a butterfly with So Saffron ink and cut it out...I used a brown marker to color the body of the butterfly and a brown Copic marker to go around the edges...added a pink Dew Drop...and popped it up with pop dots...I added pink and yellow pearls to the top right and bottom left corners to finish it off!

Thanks for looking...and Have A Great Night!!

Anniversary Card

I am just churning out the cards!!...I think I am done with family members for 2011...My in-laws anniversary is in October...and here is the card I made for them....

{Please excuse the photo quality,,,for some reason I just couldn't get a good, clear photo of this card}

This is a pretty simple card...I love how it turned out!!...The brown cardstock is from Gina K Designs...Its a nice heavy cardstock...so it stands up to just about anything you want to put on it or do to it!!...

I used the Hero Arts Antique Background stamp and light blue Chalk Ink from Color Box and stamped on GKD cardstock...the blue mat is Bazzill Bling...I rounded the corners on the focal panel and added a piece of dotted organza ribbon from my stash...I added  three Prima flowers on the right side of the card with a button and two brads for the centers and I added some Stickles of the flower petals...

I tried stamping the sentiment directly on the card with the same ink as the focal panel...but it just wasn't legible,..It was just too light to see easily...I tried stamping several times using different inks and embossing powders...I wasn't happy with the white embossed sentiment at first...but after walking away for a bit...and getting my Sweetie's opinion, I decided to go with it!!...I stamped the sentiment {Close to My Heart ~ Celebrations} on the same cardstock as the card and heat embossed it with white embossing powder...I inked the edges white also and rounded the corners.

I also finished my DD b-day card today...I will share that tomorrow!!

Have a Great Night!!

Another Christmas Card

I'm on a roll...I finished another Christmas card today!!...I haven't tallied up how many I need total...but I've got a decent start so far!!...here is my card!:

The products used on this card are a little of this and a little of that!!...I am trying to use up older supplies before buying anything new!!...I have a lot of Christmas papers that are a few years old...time to use them up!!

The card base is from DCWV....and the light green panel is a metallic cover that I embossed with a cuttlebug embossing folder...the big snowflake is from Hot off the Press and the little ones, I have no idea!!...LOL!!...I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to stamp the snowflakes...I covered the little snowflakes with glitter glue that I made!!...I used a black Copic marker to go around the edges of all of the snowflakes...for the big snowflake...I tried to use embossing powder on it and for some reason the powder didn't stick very well...maybe I need to re-ink my stamp pad...will have to try that....so, since I didn't get a very good embossed image...I used three different colors of glitter glue on it...red, green and copper...and I used a red gem for the center...think it turned out pretty good...

I used some ribbon that has wire on the edges and pleated it for the side of the card...It is white ribbon but looks pink in the pic....I used a metallic red ribbon and adhered a snowflake ribbon on top of it...I had a time with that snowflake ribbon...it started out white so I used a Copic marker to color it...I tried to use it by itself...but just couldn't get it straight....it still isn't perfect, but it looks better than it did!!

I stamped the sentiment on the same green cover as the main panel...again, I don't know who the maker of the greeting stamp is...I did successfully emboss the sentiment...but I used Peeled Paint Distress Ink and clear embossing powder...I also edged the sentiment panel with Peeled Paint Distress Ink...

I added some gems to the top left and lower right sides of the main panel to finish it off!!

Thanks for looking...and have a Great Day!!

Christmas Card

I am trying to stay ahead on my card making...so I decided to make another Christmas card!!...Here it is...

I think he is very cute!!...I cut three different sized circles from felt...added buttons, ribbon and beads...and even used toothpicks to make his arms...I cut mitten shapes out of red felt...the sentiment panel is Spellbinders Label 2 {I think}...I don't know who the maker of the stamps are...I got several sets of Christmas stamps at Wal-Mart a few years ago...there is no info on the backer sheets....The PP with the trees on it is from The Paper Studio and the striped PP is from sei...I might add some bling or something...not sure if I think it is done yet!!

We went to the Toledo Zoo on Monday and had a great time....I took way too many pics...as usual!!....I haven't scrapped in way too long...maybe I should go do a layout or two...LOL!!...If I do I will share!

Have a Great Day!!

Birthday Card

I'm doing really well at staying ahead on my card making!!...This card is for my Daughter-in-law...

Here's a close-up of the panel:

Please excuse my photography skills...I'm still learning!!

The stamp set I used for the focal image is from Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms...I think those flowers are so pretty!!...I stamped on Kraft cardstock with Tuxedo Black Momentos ink and colored the image with Copic markers...B05 for the flowers and G21 for the stems...I stamped and colored them twice...The second set I cut out and then ran a black marker around the edges...popped them up with pop dots...and then added some Stickles to the flowers...I really like how they turned out!!

I used Spellbinders Label 13 for the focal image...the blue cardstock is from Gina K Designs...

The PP I used is from sei's Poppy collection...I used a border punch and a piece of Bazzill cardstock and made a little border...the ribbon and button are from my stash...for the birthday greeting on the right side...I adhered a small piece of mesh to the cardstock and sponged some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the  top...I removed the mesh and revealed a lovely little background area to stamp "Happy Birthday" on...

Here is the inside of the card:

I backed the image panel with another piece of PP and stamped "Celebrate, it's Your day"...the sentiment stamps are from a CardMaker's kit club...the card is finished!!

I think my Daughter-in-law with like it!!

Have a great day!!

Hero Art's ~ Card for Kids...???

I started out making this card for the Hero Arts ~ Card for Kids Challenge...Not sure if this would be a good card for a child...but I think it turned out awesome!!...here's my card!

This card took me a while...I knew what I wanted to do...in my head...LOL...but it just wasn't coming together like I wanted it!!...So I had to change the design in my head!!...This is a "Tunnel" card...I'm pretty sure I found the tutorial on Splitcoaststampers...

Okay...So I wasn't sure what I was going to put on the front of the card...I didn't like the fold lines showing...I think I wrote the instructions down wrong...The first one I made I totally messed up and had to start over...my inside panel ended up being bigger than the outside...I knew that couldn't be right...so I started over...I ended up using Black Magic Core'dinations cardstock...I ran it through the paisley cuttlebug embossing folder and then sanded the top off to reveal the pink color underneath the black!!...I think it turned out very pretty!!

I then used two little strips of scraps from the inside and ran them through the "With Love" border cuttlebug folder...and I used another little piece of scrap to stamp the sentiment on...the sentiment is from the Close to My Heart, Celebrate Life set...I matted that on a piece of Core'dinations also...The little girl is from the Hero Arts set Sweet Wonderful You {CL881}...I paper pieced her using paper from the sei Poppy collection...the panel that the little girl is mounted on is a piece of Core'dinations flipped over so that the pink is showing...I used a Spellbinders scalloped rectangle for the panel...I had a scrap and it just fit into the rectangle width-wise...it was too long and that's how I got the scallop on the bottom!...I tied a piece of twine around the panel to finish off the front!

Here is the inside of the card:

I used a metallic cover for the inside...and a spellbinders oval to cut the center out...I used another little girl image from the same Hero Arts set...I paper pieced her using paper from the sei Happy Day collection...both of the girls hair is from the Basic Grey Curio Collection...I rounded the corners of the red cover sheet and added ribbon and black gems from my stash...I used twine to attach the little girl to the opening to make her look like she was "standing" in the opening.

What do you think??...would it make a nice card for a child??...I think maybe its the colors that make me wonder...I usually use happier, brighter colors for a child's card.....

Have a Great Day!!

CDAC PROGRESSIVE FREEBIE CHALLENGES

This is another card I made for the CDAC Progressive Card Challenge http://priscillastyles.ning.com/:

Coloring this beautiful cup and saucer from Sandi Samples stamps scared me a little...I'm not going to lie!!...LOL!!

I don't have a lot of experience coloring with Copics...and I wanted to do this stamp justice!!...I think it turned out okay....still need to practice...and I need to get more colors closer together...It's hard to shade when you only have one light color and one darker of the same color group!!...but I always say you can never too many crafting supplies...gives me more reasons to shop!!

I digress...LOL!!...Now onto the card...I printed the image out on Gina K Designs cardstock...as I mentioned above, I colored the image with Copics...the card base is GKD cardstock...The white panel on top of the cardstock is an invitation left over from my DS high school graduation...it has a pretty pearl-like boarder around it...I then layered a piece of black GKD cardstock with a piece of Bazzill bling purple on the black...I tied a piece of purple/green plaid ribbon around the panels with a knot to the left of the image...the sentiment is from a Cardmaker's Kit club...I layer that up the same way I layer the image...I took a black Bic Marker and went around the image to cover up any mistakes I made when i cut out the image!!...I rounded the corners of the black and purple panels...and added some pearls to the top right and lower left corners!

Have a Great day!!

I cased a card that Tami Mayberry did for CardMaker Magazine, the  September, 2011 issue...most of the paper that I used for this card were scraps!...the pattern paper behind the butterfly panel is from The Paper Studio...the card base is Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Cardstock...I used the Threading Water border punch on all the different colors...all of the paper edges were inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink...the butterflies were stamped on GKD cardstock with Tuxedo Black Momentos ink and colored with Copics...I added some Stickles to the bodies and antennas...and I used a glitter pen on the swirlys on the butterflies...the sentiment is from Hot Off The Press...and to finish it off I added three pink pearls to the top right corner.

This is week three for my Art Journal for the Greeting Farm...this week is "Gratitude"...this is what I came up with:

I used a background stamp and two colors of Tsukineko Opalite ink...I stamped the entire page and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder...it doesn't show up very well in the pic...but it has a really pretty shimmer...I used Pebbles Pearlescent chalks on the butterflies from the background stamp... I had some metallic purple cover that I used my Nesties on that the letters are attached to...the letters are from Making Memories Just Chillin' collection...some of the flowers are Prima's...some are from Kit clubs...the ribbon is from some blog candy that I won...the brads are from my stash...

A the second page:

I stamped the second page with a different background stamp with the same ink...I used Prismacolor watercolor and metallic pencils to color the background...the memo card is from Zany Zinnias kit...the flowers and brads are various ones from my stash...along with the ribbon...

Here is a card I made for the CDAC Challenge...The digital stamp I used is from Anne's Digital Art ...she is just too cute!!...I colored the image with colored pencils...

After I had the image colored and was selecting papers for the card...the commercial "Calgon, take me away" kept running through my head!!...I thought about putting "Some days there just isn't enough Calgon in the world!...but I decided to go with "Relax" on the front and "It's your day, Celebrate" on the inside!

For the card I used Gina K Designs Kraft cardstock for the base...the PP is from K & Company's Berry Sweet...the letters are E.K. Success...I used Nesties to cut out the scalloped circles and a Martha Stewart border punch for the bottom...I put Glossy Accents on the water around the little girl and I put some Stickles around the edge of the white paper that the stamp is printed on and  on the little butterfly...the bling is from TPC Studio's Happy Birthday...the ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Art Journal - Week #2

This week we had to do a two page layout with a "Sand, Sun & Beach" theme...this has been a bit of struggle for me...I have no former schooling or anything for art...so I am just kind of winging it!!...I have looked at some of the other journals and I feel like mine was done by a small child compared to some of the others...there are some very talented people out there in blog land!!...you should pop on over to the Greeting Farm and check out some the beautiful projects!!

So here is the left page of my layout:

I colored the background with watercolor paints...I then sprinkled two colors of embossing powders on the pages and heat set it....I had to start with the heat tool about a foot away from the paper and slowly move it closer so I didn't blow all of the powder of the paper!!...I stamped the umbrella three times on different papers and cut them out...I used fun foam to pop up the different layers...I cut a piece of a swiffer sheet to use as the towel...I didn't have anything else to use!...the chair was originally red and white...so I took it apart and used the same papers that I used for the umbrella!!...I stamped the word "relax"...colored with a Bic marker and covered it with Glossy Accents...

I bought the fence at Wal-Mart awhile ago...I knew I wanted to use it for something....I just didn't know what!!...LOL....I watered down some white paint and white-washed the fence...I stamped some sprigs on white cardstock and cut them out...I adhered them to the fence...added some little flowers with brads....I had some seashell stickers that I added a little smooch ink and some Stickles...the little birds at the top where charms...I cut the little hole off and added some pop dots to the back!!

And a close-up of the fence:

Have a great day!!
