A new card

I finished a card today.  I love being able to play again, instead of working on invitations!  Don't get me wrong, I loved being able to create the invitations for my son's wedding, but I am also glad that they are finally done!

I have decided that this is the year to actually learn to use rubber stamps instead of just collecting them!  I still have a lot to learn when it comes to coloring them.  I really need to work on the shading, but I'll get there!  I have always loved to color so I am really enjoying myself!

Here is the card I made.

I used colored pencils and baby oil to color in the image.  The stamp is from Stampavie - Rachelle Anne Millers' Mouse Hug.  Isn't it just too cute!!  Looking at it now, I think I should have used the solid pink behind the image and the patterned paper as the mat.  Oh well, its done now and I think it is cute.

I also made two flowers out of scrap paper.  These are my first trys and I don't think they turned out too bad.

I used the same paper for both flowers.  I used Glimmer Mist, a homemade Glimmer Mist and different inks.  I used beads and embrodery thread on the centers to tie them together.  Not to bad for my first attempt!

Well, I think that is all for tonight!  Have a Great night!

Coloring Fun

I have loved to color since I was child.  My grandma always kept coloring books and crayons on hand for when we visited (I was with my grandparents every chance I got!)  I would sit for hours and color.  I was so happy after having my children, when they were old enough to be able to color and give me a reason to buy coloring supplies!  I love opening a brand new box of crayons, they are so pretty, all shiny and new, never been used and I even like the smell of them!!

Anyways, I have never played much with colored pencils and I didn't know until recently that they could be blended and make whatever was colored look so much prettier!!  Here is my first real attempt using a stamp from Inkadinkadoo and for the most part Crayola colored pencils and a Prismacolor colorless blender pencil (I have some blending stumps ordered so I can do it the recommended way!)

I used GinaK pure luxury layering weight (chocolate kiss) cardstock for the base of the card.  I stamped my image on GinaK pure luxury base weight cardstock (white).  I didn't think that it mattered what kind of paper was used to stamp and color on, but have realized after using the GinaK cardstock that it really DOES matter and make so much of a difference!

My picture didn't turn out well at all so I will post it tomorrow when I have better light! Instead I will upload a layout of my DD that I did a while ago!

Thanks for looking!

Have a great night!

It's Been A While

It's been a while since I have posted anything new.  Has been crazy around here with my health problems and we have had two loved ones pass in the last two weeks.  Hopefully now things will settle down a little.

My son is getting married in May and I really need to start working on the invitations! Hopefully I will get started on them next week.

I have promised myself that this is the year that I quit collecting stamping supplies and start using them!  I think I have one card that I made using stamps on my puter, I will add that to this post when I am finished.  I thought my camera died but it turns out that my rechargalbe batteries quit working.  Who would have thought that rechargables go bad??  Not me!  They still work in my mouse!

I think Spring is trying to return here to NE Indiana!  We had a few really nice days last week!  Its cold today and is suppose to be for the next few days, but then it is suppose to warm up again!   I am sooo tired of winter!

Okay, that is enough for now!  I will try to find my newest card and get it posted!

This is a card I made using the tutorials and videos from stamptv.com  If you haven't checked this site out, you should!  GinaK does these wonderful videos showing different techniques, it's awesome for the beginner stamper like me!  She also put out her first kit to go along with the new site and I must say I was very impressed!  I didn't realize that paper really does make a difference in stamping and coloring!

This card is also for a challenge on the stamp Something blog  http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/2009/03/favorite-somethings-challenge.html

The challenge is to create your favorite something.  Mine happen to be flowers!  So here is my attempt!

Okay, I'm really done for today!

Have a great night and check out all of blog candy that I posted in previouis posts today!

Snowing here in NE Indiana

We are getting blasted again here in NE Indiana!  It has been snowing all day and is suppose to continue until tomorrow.  We are under a winter storm warning until 3 pm Saturday! ugh!

I am starting to put together the invitations for my sons wedding, getting the paper colors and type, the perfect font and font color and the layout of the invitation.  I have an idea rolling around in my head, I just hope it turns out as pretty as it looks in my head...LOL!

Here is another project from this summer.  Hopefully soon I will be posting current projects!

This is the Father's Day card I made for my Sweetie's dad.  I used my Silhouette to cut it out and a LOT of different papers.  The deer itself is cut out of a suede type paper.  Dad really liked it and still has it displayed!  I'm happy he liked it!

Well I guess I should get back to the wedding invitations!

Have a good night and stay inside if you're dealing with all of this snow!

Gazelle

I got my new Gazelle today!!  I am so excited to get to finally use it!  I've got it all installed, now waiting to have the time to acutally use it, hopefully Friday!

It's snowing here again!  It's suppose to snow every day until Saturday.  It's only January and I'm tired of winter already!

Here is another project I did over the summer.

This is a birthday card I made for my mom.  She loves frogs, and I think this frog is just adorable!  I used my Silhouette to cut her out and paper pieced her.  I used several different colors of metallic book cover stock.  I think she is just too cute!

I think that's it for today.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and it is a three hour drive one way!

Have a great night!
