I am ahead of the game this month! I have both of my Mother's Day cards finished and my Sweeties' dad's birthday card finished! I have my son's birthday card started and should have it finished tomorrow! Woo Hoo! I am usually finishing my cards at the last minute, for some reason, this month I seem to have oodles of extra time, or maybe it is extra energy...lol...so here they are!
I have repurposed this card again. It is the third time I have posted it, but have made changes everytime. It is now my Sweetie's mom's Mother's Day card.
I added the word "Mom" to the front using DCWV rubons. On the inside I stamped a phrase inside of a frame on the top and "Happy Mother's Day" on the bottom.
Here is the birthday card I made for my Sweetie's dad. He is really into hunting and I have such a hard time with masculine cards. I had some stickers that I hoped I could make work for a card without it looking like a sticker sneeze...lol! I think it turned out okay.
I first tried some patterned paper that looked like grass, but it looked ginormous compared to the stickers, so I thought I would try to make my own. I used four different colors of ink, two browns and two greens and used a dauber to pounce it onto cardstock. When I thought it looked okay I took several different colors of colored pencils and tried to make a grass pattern. It didn't show up in the photo to well, but that was my technique...lol!
Some of the stickers are popped up on dimensionals. I wanted it to look like the deer was walking out of some trees and startled the ducks. For the tree on the left, I had two of them so I layered one on top of the other. The middle tree is stuck to the cardstock and the tree on the right is popped up on dimensionals to make it look like the deer is hiding behind it. The deer is popped up on dimensionals to make it look like he is standing in front of one tree and behind the other. Two of the ducks and two of the clouds are also popped up on dimensionals.
For the inside I used a 4" x 6" sheet from a mat stack by DCWV, cut it down to size, tied a ribbon around it and that side was done. I mounted a piece of cardstock to the other side and stamped Happy Birthday on it. I added the word "Dad" using some flocked sticker letters from my stash. I also cut two strips of patterned paper from the other side, inked the edges, added brads to each end and popped it up on dimensionals.
That is all for tonight! Have a great night!
Kelly
